Genius tops Breakfast Category
The Genius team are celebrating another award win after our gluten and dairy free Pains au Chocolat won top honours in the Breakfast category at the 2015 FreeFrom Food Awards. Judges praised the product with comments such as “Amazing to have a gluten-free pain au chocolat that is also dairy-free!! How did they make that crispy, crumbly pastry?”
During the evening’s free-from festivities we were also delighted to discover that our Lemon Cupcakes were Commended in the ‘Tea Time’ category.
The FreeFrom Food Awards celebrate the quality, innovation and imagination show by the food industry in creating foods that are free from gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya, sulphates and other allergens. Welcoming guests to the awards ceremony Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, Awards Director remarked on the “… amazing range of innovative and really excellent products” and Genius are immensely proud to be included in such good company.
The award judges include professional foodies (manufacturers, chefs and cookery writers), free-from bloggers, coeliacs & allergy sufferers and dietitians & nutritionists, as well as a good sprinkling of ‘outsiders’ to benchmark the products against non-free-from equivalents. Winners were presented with their awards by Anthony Worrall Thomson, long term patron of the FreeFrom Food Awards.
