A number of places do gluten-free afternoon teas.  We recommend Claridges or the Athenaeum Hotel.

There are a number of good blogs on gluten-free london, as suggested by Carly Talbot, who writes http://www.glutenfreeb.com/.  She also recommends www.glutenfreemrsd.com and http://www.glutenfreefoodie.co.uk/

And finally, for a totally different dining experience (though tickets are hard to get), why not try Annie's Supper Club in the Bromley area of south London. All GF. A very 'alternative' but delightful approach to dinning out.  Suggested by Russell Chadwick

Cook & Garcia in Richmond use genius bread to make fresh sandwiches and also do lovely cupcakes and brownies.

Carluccios and Zizzis both have gluten free pasta, they have allergy menus to show what is and isn't gf!

La Tasca mark all their GF items on the menu, it's mainly the sea food and vegetarian dishes but there's alot there and there's quite a few around london.

Las Iguanas do really nice food, again they mark their gf items on the menu and there is also one in the 02 arena (I think they actually had a separate menu which you can ask for).

Wagamamas do have an Allergy menu also which you can ask for which shows you what you can/can't have and if you can substitute ingrediants to make it GF.

If you want simple food then Nandos is good, their chips and thier chicken is GF, we just can't have the piri piri salt but usually the staff are knowledgeable about this.

WAGfree bakery in Brixton is amazing, they do cakes as well as meals and tasty drinks!!

M&S, Starbucks, Sainsburys (usually the larger local stores) and Waitrose now do sandwiches in their chiller cabinets. M&S caf├ęs usually have a really nice selection of GF tasties, their soups are usually GF and you can get a GF roll to go with it.

Italian chain, Carluccios also offer a substantial gluten-free menu, with pasta dishes cooked using their g/f corn pasta, plus a daily risotto. Check their site, as certain locations offer a limited variety. Not excessively priced, and adding more restaurants outside of London, too.
