Food on prescription

If you are diagnosed with Coeliac disease by a doctor you may be able to receive foods such as bread, pasta and flour mixes on prescription from your GP.

The following Genius range is available via your pharmacy to those medically diagnosed with Coeliac disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis.

How many loaves of bread will I receive in my order?

Genius is supplied in cases containing 8 loaves, of either brown or white unsliced or sliced 400g bread. This will mean that a prescription for one case of the Genius bread will now equate to 8 points worth of your allocated prescription.

How Do I Get Gluten-Free Food On Prescription?

In most parts of the country, as with prescriptions for medication, your GP raises and signs the prescription which is then dispensed by a pharmacist or dispensing doctor. You may find it useful to download and complete a personal prescription form with your choices before making an appointment with your GP or doctor.
