New Starbucks gluten-free sandwich
After the success of its new gluten-free sandwich made with Genius bread, Starbucks has come up with a delicious new filling, Cheese & Coleslaw, to make a change from Tuna Mayo.
The sandwich comprises Mature Cheddar and Red Leicester cheeses with cabbage, carrot and red onion coleslaw topped with mixed leaf salad on Genius brown bread. A classic sandwich perfect for the summertime and a great choice for vegetarians too! The sandwich is available in Starbucks coffeehouses throughout Great Britain from today.
If you live in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, you can now also pick up a gluten-free sandwich made with Genius bread from Starbucks. The tasty gluten-free tuna mayonnaise sandwich is made using pole and line-caught skipjack tuna with roasted tomatoes and basil mayo, topped with rocket leaves served on Genius brown bread.
If you have any enquiries about Starbucks sandwiches you can contact Starbucks Customer Care team directly on 020 8834-5050 for the UK, or (01)677 0744 for the Republic of Ireland. Alternatively you can also send an email to ukinfo@starbucks.com

My local Asda and Tesco have removed Genius from their store. When I enquired why, I was told that its in-line with store policy to introduce newer lines ... and I replied, that I felt i was being discriminated against to which the manager said but we have a gluten free section and I replied but with Genius I dont have to throw water on it and its just like "real bread" ....
The staff member on the Tesco bakery couldn't help me and wasn't interested either ... and the last time I visited the store they had the new sliced version in as well - but nothing at all now.
I was in Starbucks last week in the trafford centre, but didnt see the sandwich option. Will check it out next time I go in.
Would certainly make life far easier if my Starbucks stocks it.
Ally x

It is fantastic to have "proper" sandwiches in such convenient locations like Starbucks.
About Starbucks, I found their customer care team fantastic (prompt and thorough) when I asked about the ingredients in their chocolate cornflake squares

The new cheese and coslaw filling sounds great but its not so great for me as im allergic to dairy and gluten. Will starbucks be stocking both the tuna and the cheese sandwiches? I tried the tuna and loved it!

I have an intolerance to wheat and cows' milk. Is the mayonnaise in the Starbucks sandwich milk free? Also unable to buy your bread locally in Tesco or Asda. Finally found it in Sainsbury's, Bridgend. Quite a way to go for a loaf of bread (but worth it). It's wonderful to eat an edible piece of bread.

Hi Anne,
We only provide our Genius bread to Starbucks, therefore we are unfortunately unable to advise you on the filling. Please contact Starbucks Customer Care directly on (020) 8834-5050 or send an email to ukinfo@starbucks.com and they will be more than happy to answer your query regarding the mayonnaise in their sandwich.
We have a new searchable store directory - http://www.geniusglutenfree.com/gluten-free-products/where-to-buy/ - where you can use your postcode to search for your nearist stockist of Genius. If you are having problems with availability in your local Tesco and ASDA, please contact the Customer Services Desk in the first instance. They will be able to advise you of delivery dates and stock levels.
